Do you employ more than 250 staff, or if you employ less does your turnover exceeds £38M and balance sheet exceeds £33M? If so then this is for you.

By December 2019 you will need to have had an energy efficiency audit completed on your business. This is in line with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) directive from the EU.


Landlords Beware! – new EU regulations to protect tenants

This time the targets are landlords, both residential and commercial, and the directive in question is the snazzy named Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations 2014.


ESOS Update: Environment Agency to defer enforcement action

New guidance from The Environment Agency has confirmed that it is not expecting to take enforcement action for late notification of compliance with the Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS), provided it is received by 29 January 2016,.

ESOS is a mandatory energy efficiency assessment scheme designed to comply with new EU rules. The government believes it can deliver £1.6bn of net benefits to the UK, with the majority of these being directly felt by businesses as a result of energy savings.

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy assessment and energy saving identification scheme for large undertakings (and their corporate groups). The scheme applies throughout the UK.  The Environment Agency will be publishing compliance guidance later in 2014.
